Welcome to Just The Pen
The Beautiful Ending/Beginning
©2021 Adriann Toombs Bautista
I have suffered much
But loved deeply
Richly and authentically
I do not count the losses
But I pull from them the lessons
The moments of clarity
As I uncovered another piece of myself
Then discovered a new layer of who I am
Left behind or found in the ashes
Once the fire ceased
And the smoldering subsided
I now take great joy
In the memories of each “first”
Before time would announce
That “this” time was up
I revel in the journey
That has delivered me here
To this very moment
There are no regrets
No ill feelings of remorse
Just sheer gratitude
For another opportunity
To publicly reveal
What has been birthed
From private pain
Definitely thru disappointment
And most certainly in isolation
Healed is my portion
Whole is my condition
Poised my positioning
Yet with Grace
I am Just the Pen
